Old Works

Of all the pieces I did my freshmen year, the Unity assignment from 2-D design was probably my favorite (which was surprising, as i hated the class until i realized how important it was). It was my first real attempt at a digital painting and really helped me understand the importance of design and placement in art.

This is neat.

This is the launch trailer for Supergiant's game, Transistor. This is one my favorite trailers for many reasons. For one thing i'm a fan and deep advocate of indie game studios,  especially ones like Supergiant, but thats not what really sells me on this choice. The trailer does everything it needs to do to pull the interest of the audience without overdoing any of it. It uses a vague dialogue played on top of a smooth montage of images to give a glimpse of a storyline. It also shows its unique level design and combat engine as well as its, HUD, menu navigation and RPG style leveling system at the same time. The trailer effectively shows the most important aspects of the game in under two minutes, leaving the viewer interested enough to play the game but still able to go in with a bit to be curious about.
